Krista R. Page, MA, LMFT #142877
Los Angeles, California (serving all of California as a pychotherapist)
Hi, I’m Krista.
I love being a therapist because I believe healing is a human right and belongs to us all! I am trauma-informed, spiritually grounded and value the complexity of culture, identity and systemic injustice in how that affects individual and community mental health.
My clients describe my style as genuine, comfortable, patient and educational. I lead with my heart and intuition while also helping people connect with reason, skills, and resources. I enjoy nurturing the two-way street of our empathy for others and compassion for ourselves. I also specialize in relationships and am passionate about teaching nonviolent communication.
I believe there is a natural connection between the peace we wish to see in our communities, the peace we foster in our relationships with others, and the peace we seek to have within ourselves. I especially welcome people who want to try therapy for the first time as well as experienced therapy goers who are looking for a fresh, dynamic shift.
Your journey is unique and I want to honor it. I am also inspired by the concept of "each one teach one." I enjoy sharing everything I've learned, delivered with warmth and humor, and then fostering your leadership to create a ripple effect.
FAQs
Q: What modality are you trained in?
A: I am trained in Relational Gestalt theory and integrate many other theories as there is not a cookie-cut treatment plan for anyone (i.e. DBT, CBT, Psychodynamic, Existential, Humanistic, Feminism, Liberation Psychology, and Affirmative Therapy).
Q: Where did you go to school?
A: I did my undergraduate study at UCLA where I majored in Psychology. I pursued minors in Women’s Studies (now Gender Studies) and Education, but ultimately couldn’t choose between the two. I completed my masters degree at Antioch Los Angeles where I specialized in Applied Community Psychology.
Q: What do you like to do for fun?
A: I am a big beach lover. I try to go at least once a week. I enjoy art, music, dancing, basketball, photography, writing, and comedy. I shamelessly value leisure and rest. Find me laying on the sand with my headphones on and coconut water in my hand. I also love quality time with my friends and family.
Q: Have you published anything?
A: Only one so far! My main contribution was the section on Minority Visibility vs. Marginalization. You can see it here. I am currently working on an article focusing on political and humanistic radicalism in modern Gestalt therapy practice. I also hope to write some books in the future. For now, feel free to check out my blog attached to this website! I hope to share thoughts, musings, creative expression and information I learn along my journey.
